By focusing on the positive and on solutions since my original accident in1988 which left me paralyzed on my left side (an accidental gunshot wound to the head), and a stroke in 1995 that resulted in my being wheelchair confined (originating from a contra-coup injury from the original massive brain damage), I have accomplished a lot: I earned a B.A. majoring in psychology; a Certificate of Counselling Science (CCS); a Come Back Award of Recognition; I finished in the top 5 percent of a Physique Transformation Challenge; third-place in the Physically Challenged category of the 2008 World Championship Arm Wrestling. The culmination of these efforts is my private counselling/therapy practice - the attainment of which was facilitated by my quitting both drinking alcohol (for almost 2 years - just to see if I could) and smoking. At present, along with maintaining my counselling/therapy practice, I am also training to win Gold at the 2011 Worlds. I also completed a distance education Web Design & Optimization course through Selkirk College and in 2010 I completed two Web Design & Optimization advance courses (Dream Weaver & Wordtracker for SEO). By constructing a counselling web site my practice is now accessible to those of you who do not want to leave your home, or can not.
